Team Embarks on 2024 Autumn Outing at Badachu(Eight Temples)

On October 20, 2024, the team took a break from their intensive research work to embark on an autumn outing at Badachu(known as the Eight Temples). The event not only provided an opportunity to connect with nature but also deepened the understanding and rapport among team members. In keeping with our annual tradition, we invited esteemed guests to join us on this yearly excursion, and we were honored to have Professor Zheng Xiaogu and Professor Jae Kwang Kim from Iowa State University as our guests of honor for this year's autumn outing.

The team assembled at Longquan Temple, the fifth site within Badachu, at 10:30 am. Despite the cold weather, the bright sunshine of the morning created a warm and leisurely atmosphere in the tea house. Here, everyone enjoyed the delicious tea brought by Professor Chen and shared snacks among themselves, engaging in delightful conversations.

After the rest, the group continued their journey towards to the Fragrant World Temple (6th), the largest temple, and the Cave of Precious Pearls (7th), the temple perched highest up the mountain. The trip was both relaxed and enjoyable, with all chatting about research, photography techniques, and the historical culture of Badachu's various attractions, gaining much from the experience. As they climbed higher, they could see red walls and black tiles through the gaps in the trees, as well as city buildings shrouded in mist in the distance, offering a breathtaking view of the harmony and boundary between nature and the city.

On the way down the mountain, the group split into two. One team chose to walk, while the other opted for the sliding track, each finding their own joy. Finally, everyone gathered at the foot of the mountain, and then went back to school together. This outing provided a valuable opportunity for communication, fostering a more proactive attitude towards team collaboration in the future.
