On the morning of January 16th, the research report release of "China's Population Projection and Policy Recommendations from 2025 to 2100," hosted by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Innovation in Statistics at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, as well as the seminar on the Current Status and Trends of China's Population, was held in Chengdu, Sichuan.
At the meeting, Academician Chen Songxi officially released the research report titled "China's Population Projection and Policy Recommendations from 2025 to 2100." The report provides predictions for China's total population and structure from 2025 to 2100, analyzing the country's demographic trends at the end of this century in terms of total population, birth rates, age structure, aging, and labor force. It addresses key questions such as how China's total birth population and age structure will change, and whether China will still be a populous country by the end of this century.
The report highlights China's current demographic situation and challenges, offering robust data support for the scientific formulation of population policies to help achieve high-quality population development goals. It proposes a series of policy recommendations.
